All Lives Matter Vs Black Lives Matter: Part 2

As The Black Lives Matter movement is to be fulfilled through the people of today it is up to the students like Alston to voice his feelings. Many politicians have criticized the movement and ignore what is reality according to Alston.

“We just want to acknowledge that there is a specific problem in the African American community that isn’t happening in other communities,” said Alston.

With many social injustices going on against the African American community there is more to it than just recognizing it. That’s already been done but the next step is doing something about it. Students came o the conclusion that to be in support of the movement, all races and more importantly African American must come together with a united front according to Alston.

“The media shows sides that sometimes don’t have the full story and even the effect. There is nothing wrong with standing up and supporting something you believe in,” said Issac Esson who is a junior at Pace.

Esson, who was in attendance was active and in an agreement with Alston. Most people don’t understand its up to students to do their own due diligence and show different ways of support according to Esson. These include silent and peaceful protest to even vocally. All have a roll in how support can be shown. It is up to students to exercise and carry on with what they can in support of the movement.

“No matter what, it is better than notr doing anything at all,” said Esson.
