Homecoming Close

This passed weekend at Pace was the Homecoming weekend which held various events and festivities. From Friday until Sunday held sporting events with women’s volleyball and soccer as well as men’s football team. Women’s volleyball came out victorious defeating Adelphi University out of Long Island, New York and women’s soccer came out victorious as well with defeating Southern Connecticut University 2-0.  The men’s football team on the other hand was not able to come out on top as they are still looking for their first win of the season. At the halftime of the football game a Homecoming king and queen was crowned as Delaney Walker and Bakhoya Mangoli. Both were first timers who received an award of five hundred dollars each.  Walker and Mangoli both had to promote themselves and do a good job of getting students to vote for them.

“Never have I been the most vocal or outgoing person but I figured why not give it a try? I’ve never done it before and I did my part with following through on it,” said Walker.

Delaney Walker is senior at Pace and who is also one of the running backs on the football team and has played all the years that he has been here.

Most of these games held a pink campaign where shirts were given away in support of breast cancer awareness month. All sports teams participated to show their support. The Homecoming weekend was eventful with many ups and downs as students look to bounce back into class mode.
